UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s condition is improving in intensive care
Britain’s treasury chief said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s condition is improving – from coronavirus complications – in the intensive care unit of St. Thomas’ Hospital.
Johnson has been sitting up in bed and engaging with his doctors at the hospital, Rishi Sunakadded.
The British prime minister was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, 10 days after being diagnosed with the coronavirus. He was then moved to the ICU on Monday when his condition deteriorated.
Earlier on Wednesday, Johnson’s spokesman said the prime minister was receiving “standard oxygen treatment” and is breathing without any other assistance.
To date, Britain’s confirmed death toll surged to move than 7,097 on Wednesday, a daily increase of 938 and its biggest spike so far, according to the Associated Press.
