Egypt reports 139 new coronavirus cases and 15 deaths, the highest daily toll

Egypt has reported 139 new coronavirus cases, its highest daily toll, bringing the total number to 1699, a health ministry statement said on Thursday.

The North African country also reported 15 new deaths from the virus, another highest daily toll, bringing the total fatalities to 118, the statement added.

The new fatalities included a foreign man, said health ministry spokesperson Khaled Megahed.

Meanwhile, the total number of the fully-recovered cases increased to 348 on Thursday, including a foreign man, all have been discharged from isolation hospitals, Megahed added.
