Armed Forces sterilise main streets in Red Sea, Upper Egypt – spokesman

Egypt’s Armed Forces said it has carried out disinfection procedures in the Red Sea governorate’s Hurghada and Upper Egypt’s Assiut amid the coronavirus outbreak, a statement by the Armed Forces spokesman said on Sunday.

Armed Forces spokesman Tamer El-Refaie said the military’s southern region disinfected main roads and squares frequented by a large number of citizens as well as government buildings in Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Aswan, and Hurghada.

The disinfection was also carried out in Cairo’s Marg metro station, which often sees a high density of commuters.

El-Refaie said the sterilisation was implemented using advanced equipment that allows for the quick disinfection of large areas.

Over the past weeks, Egypt’s Armed Forces has been sterilising the country’s busiest areas an effort to stem the spread of coronavirus.

On Friday, the Armed Forces carried out sterilisation procedures in Cairo, Ismailia, Port Said, and Damietta.
