Pentagon memo says recruits with coronavirus history will be rejected by U.S. military
A Pentagon said in a memo on Wednesday that recruits with history of coronavirus infection would be permanently disqualified, The Military Times first reported.
The memo from the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) said that a “history of COVID-19, confirmed by either a laboratory test or clinician diagnosis, is permanently disqualifying.”
The memo is actually “interim guidance” and recruits who have recovered from the disease may still be able to get a waiver that lets them sign up, according a defence official told NBC News.
The official did not say how long the interim guidance would be in place, NBC News reported.
