Egypt gets its fifth new aircraft from Airbus

Egypt has received a fifth Airbus plane from Airbus’ factory in Toulouse, France, said EgyptAir Holding’s president Roshdy Zakaria late Thursday.

The new aircraft coincides with the resumption of international flights to and from Egypt last Wednesday.

Zakaria said Egypt would receive a sixth plane within next week, one of a total of eight new Airbus aircrafts of the same model that the airline is set to receive.

The new aircraft provides high levels of comfort, as it features a structure that is the widest in its class, he added. It also has the best cabin in its class, and an engine that reduces fuel consumption by 20 percent and has low emissions levels.

In addition, Zakaria said the aircraft produces 50 percent less noise compared to the previous generation of Airbus models. It has a spacious cabin with a capacity of 142 seats, including 16 in Business Class and 126 in Economy Class, he concluded.
