Egyptian banks to resume regular working hours starting 1 September
Banks will resume normal working hours starting 1 September, nearly six months after the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) shortened working hours for the banking system amid strict preventive measures against the coronavirus .
Banks – working in the Egyptian market – will open for clients from 8:30 am to 3 pm, while working hours for employees will be from 8 am to 4 pm.
CBE shortened in March working hours for the banking system to start from 9 am to 1:30 pm before extending it in May to 2pm amid strict preventive measures placed to stem the spread of the coronavirus, including a nighttime curfew.
