Global coronavirus deaths exceed 952,000, cases surpass 30.5 million

Global deaths from the coronavirus surpassed 952,000 as Cases surpass 30.5 million;, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

India added more than 93,000 cases in a day, and new infections in Germany topped 2,000 for a second day. Australia’s Victoria state fell to the lowest level in almost three months.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reversed a policy and recommended people should get a Covid-19 test if they come in contact with an infected person, even if they don’t have symptoms. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s main rival tested positive for the virus.

France’s Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire tested positive. London Mayor Sadiq Khan signaled the city is headed for tighter restrictions.
