Egypt, Google sign an AI training agreement
Egypt’s Information Technology Institute (ITI) signed a cooperation agreement with Google for the launch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Capacity Building Program.
The program aims to train over 30,000 software engineering and computer science graduates on AI and MT tools, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), computer vision, and predictive analytics, according to a statement by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Wednesday.
The first level targets training 25,000 trainees on AI applications, while second phase, which includes both the second and third levels, targets training 3,000 people in each level, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to more than 30,000.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of a virtual panel discussion on post-Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the adoption of modern technologies to boost the economy, organised by Google as part of “Grow Stronger with Google” initiative for supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs in the MENA region.
