Giza Chamber of Commerce will convene an extended meeting newt Sunday with Dr Ali Abdel Rahman, governor of Giza. This meeting is to issue the final decision of closing stores early in Giza, as well to discuss establishing 4 new markets for street vendors and fresh graduates. Adel Nasser, Chamber’s Chairman of the Board, and members of the board as well as the heads of divisions will attend the meeting.
The meeting will aim at determining the places and areas of the new market, which the governorate will allocate so as to eradicate the street vendors phenomenon, as well providing job opportunities for the fresh graduates, Salah Taha, the Chamber’s Secretariat, said.
Taha added that the meeting will discuss the final decision of closing the stores early, jointly with the governorate, and will send the decision to the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.
Aboul Hagag Mourad Mohamed Salem, General Director of Economic Affairs in the Chamber, said 70% of chamber’s members approved the decision of closing stores at 10 PM, while the grocery stores and supermarkets close at 2 AM; excepting the restaurant, tourism attractions and pharmacies.
He explained that the approval conditions included that the law should be implemented on all stores and malls, and called for eliminating the slums and street vendors’ phenomenon.
