Egypt’s Citadel International Festival’s 30th edition for music kicks off at Saladin Citadel
Citadel International Festival’s 30th edition for Music and Singing kicked off on 14 August. It will run for the first time over 18 days until 31 August. The ticket price not exceeding 20 Egyptian pounds, daily at 8 pm. It’s performing 42 concerts by Egyptian and Arab singers.
The festival is held in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
“The ministry is organizing the festival with the aim of forming awareness and raising conscience, particularly since the price of the ticket is affordable for all Egyptian families, as it does not exceed 20 pounds.” Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Ines Abdel-Dayem, said.
The famous musician Omar Khairat will perform, and also many singers as; Ali al-Hajjar, Nawal al-Zoghbi, Hani Shaker, Medhat Saleh and Massar Egbari band.
There will be many programmes include this festival, as Kathak troupe from India, that performs traditional dances. It also includes Cairo Opera Chamber music group.
