Tesla raises Model Y price in U.S.
The price of Tesla’s Model Y electric car in the U.S. has climbed partially, Tesla announced on its website on Tuesday.
The company has increased the price of the EV by $250, making its price reach $47,740, while prices of other models were kept unchanged, the website shows.
The increase is Tesla’s third for the Model Y price, after cutting some of its cars’ prices in the US in April as it increased the price of its Model S, X, and Y EVs.
“The company was willing to sacrifice margins for sales volume but was also looking to raise back prices, where it can,” Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, had previously said.
Model Y’s price is still 4.5 percent below its original price prior to the price cut in April.
