Madbouly calls for shipping routes linking Egypt with African countries
Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly called on Monday for operating two regular shipping routes linking Egypt with African countries.
The shipping routes will allow Egypt to ship to both the countries of East and South Africa (COMESA countries) and the countries of North and West Africa.
Madbouly made his statements during a meeting to follow up on measures in order to increase exports to foreign markets.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Supply and Internal Trade Minister Ali Al-Moselhy and the Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir, and other officials.
Madbouly directed to hold a meeting with the chambers of commerce and export councils to agree on the shipping lines and the goods to be exported to African countries.
However, the meeting also discussed the cooperation opportunities with the Egyptian private sector to help support multiple types of food industries.
