Egypt’s Samar Hamza tops United World Wrestling rankings

Egyptian freestyle wrestler Samar Hamza broke records and reached the top of the United World Wrestling rankings on Monday.

Hamza garnered 71600 points in the 76 kg weight category, granting her the world number one position.

Türkiye’s Yasmine Adar who scored 63000 points came in at number two at the world ranking.

Hamza is the first Egyptian woman wrestler to win a Wrestling World Championship medal in 2021, as well as a silver medal in a Wrestling World Championship in 2022.
