Japan’s NYK suspends Red Sea navigation
Japan’s Nippon Yusen (NYK), the country’s biggest shipper by sales, has put on hold Red Sea navigation for all the vessels, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
NYK has also instructed its vessels near the Red Sea to wait in safe waters as it considers route changes, the spokesperson told Reuters.
The shipper is the latest operator as yet to suspend Red Sea shipping amid the growing tensions in the shipping corridor.
Japanese shipping firms such as Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha have also suspended navigation through the Red Sea for all vessels, Japan’s Nikkei business daily reported on Tuesday.
