Egypt’s food exports recorded an increase of 50,000 tonnes in the week ended on January 26, compared to a week earlier. The largest importer was Saudi Arabia among other 155 countries, the Cabinet said on Sunday citing data from National Food Safety Authority (NFSA).
During the period from January 20 – 26, some of the major vegetables produced and exported by Egypt included potatoes of 16,000 tonnes, followed by beans of a total of 15,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, citrus topped the list of exported Egyptian fruits with a total of 60,000 tonnes.
Food export and imports orders that issued reached 5,610 to record 250,000 tonnes from about 1680 exporting companies, according to NFSA.
