e&, Huawei partner for green push, target net-zero by 2030
e& and Huawei signed an MoU during MWC 2024 to collaborate on building energy-efficient networks in the UAE, aiming to reduce carbon emissions. They plan to decarbonise e&’s ICT infrastructure using Huawei’s energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy, e& announced on Wednesday .
e& launched the region’s first net-zero 5G Massive MIMO site with Huawei’s technology at COP28 in December 2023, demonstrating their commitment to eco-friendly technology.
The partnership aims to accelerate e&’s transition to net-zero and improve network energy performance. Both companies are committed to green development and are investing in sustainable projects that align with e&’s 2030 net-zero ambition.
Sabri Albreiki, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of e& International, and Gavin Wang, President of Huawei e& Global Key Account, both expressed their commitment to a greener, more sustainable future and the revolutionisation of the telecommunications landscape.
