Egypt’s AAIB raises limits of intl. credit card transactions
Egypt’s Arab African International Bank (AAIB) announced the increase in limits of all credit card transactions according to the type of each card, Amwal Al Ghad Arabic reported.
The bank raised the daily and monthly limits for cash withdrawals outside Egypt for “Visa Gold” card customers to EGP 10,000, and EGP 50,000 for purchases, and raised the daily and monthly limits for cash withdrawals outside Egypt for “MasterCard Titanium” to EGP 10,000 and EGP 100,000 for purchases.
The international usage limits for daily and monthly cash withdrawals for “Visa Platinum” customers increased to EGP 10,000 and EGP 120,000 for purchases.
Meanwhile, the daily and monthly limits for cash withdrawals outside Egypt for “Visa Signature” and “World Elite” customers were increased to EGP 25,000 and EGP 150,000 for purchases.
The bank announced that the daily and monthly limits for foreign currency transactions inside Egypt stands at $ 1,000 for all cards.
The Central Bank of Egypt on Wednesday directed local banks to increase the limits of credit cards in foreign currency, in a new step towards enhancing the stability of the local exchange market.
