Egypt allocates EGP 4.9b for Menoufia’s development projects

Menoufia Governorate is set to benefit from significant public investments totaling EGP 4.9 billion in the 2023–2024 fiscal year as part of the Citizen Investment Plan, Hala El-Said, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, announced on Tuesday.

El-Said stated that these funds will be allocated across various sectors, excluding additional projects under Haya Karima (Decent Life) initiative.

Notable allocations include EGP 1.4 billion for higher education (29 per cent of the total), EGP 1.3 billion for housing (27 per cent), EGP 693 million for local development (14 per cent), EGP 440 million for pre-university education (9 per cent), and EGP 200 million for transport (4 per cent).

Other sectors will receive EGP 867 million, accounting for 17 per cent of the investments aimed at driving comprehensive development in the region.
