Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in green area on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 inching 1.17 per cent higher to 29,378.82 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33, gained by 0.97 per cent to 2,818.85 points.
The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 added 0.26 per cent to 6,838.44 points.
The index, EGX100 index climbed by 0.43 per cent, to 9,762.12 points.
The total market capitalisation reached 2,010,652,699,511 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 1,202,259,724 Egyptian pounds and 21,588,334 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Arabs were net sellers with total of 1,223,848,058 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers
- Shares of Act Financial (ACTF.CA) soared by 29.66 per cent, to close at the price of 3.760 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing (RUBX.CA) climbed by 16.46 per cent, to trade at the price of 6.720 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Naeem Holding (NAHO.CA) jumped by 7.30 per cent, to the purchasing price of 0.147 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of South Cairo and Giza Mills and Bakeries (SCFM.CA) plunged by by 17.80 per cent, to close at 35.560 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad) (ROTO.CA) sank by 5.00 per cent, to close at 38.200 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Egyptian Iron and Steel (IRON.CA) dived by 4.91 per cent, to close at the price of 42.190 Egyptian pounds a share.
