Safaga Port Receives Chinese Ship Carrying US Wheat

Egypt’s Safaga Port received today a Chinese cargo ship called “Maya”, coming from America and carrying 63.000 tons of US wheat, said Gen. Mahmoud Abdel Khaled, Head of Safaga Port.

The cargo ship was transferring US wheat shipment to support the mills in Upper Egypt. The Veterinary and Agriculture Quarantine Authority in Safaga Port has announced the state of emergency so as to examine the wheat shipment before unloading it in the port’s silos. The authority will make sure of the wheat’s integrity and its specifications.
