Sisi: Egypt, Turkey target $15b trade volume in coming years

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on Wednesday that his meeting with Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan focused on expanding the Egypt-Turkey free trade agreement.

“The goal is to boost bilateral trade to $15 billion in the coming years.” President Sisi said in a press conference in Ankara during his first presidential visit to the country in 12 years.

He further said that they discussed enhancing joint investments between the two countries and providing maximum facilitation to Turkish businessmen in light of Egypt’s attractive investment climate, which has enabled them to increase their business volume, sell their products in Egypt, and export to other markets.

The Egyptian president also stated that they discussed ways to boost mutual investments between the two countries and provide maximum support to Turkish businessmen. He highlighted Egypt’s favourable investment environment, which has empowered Turkish businesses to expand their operations, sell their products locally, and even export to other regions.
