Nestlé Egypt to expand local supply chain with govt support
The Egyptian government’s Industrial Modernisation Centre (IMC) will reach a new collaboration with Nestlé Egypt to promote local manufacturing, according to a Cabinet statement released on Tuesday.
The anticipated partnership aims to identify local suppliers capable of meeting Nestlé’s requirements for production inputs while adhering to international standards. This announcement follows a meeting between Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel Al-Wazir and Nestlé Egypt officials this morning to discuss the company’s future investment plans.
Minister Al-Wazir reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting businesses and creating a favourable investment climate in Egypt. He emphasised ongoing efforts to streamline industrial procedures and highlighted the government’s new investment incentives to bolster the industrial sector.
Nestlé Egypt has demonstrated its commitment to the Egyptian market by investing 5 billion Egyptian pounds over the past decade. This investment has created over 10,000 jobs and generated $22 million in exports.
