Egypt’s MSMEDA allocates EGP6.65m for human development in Assiut

MSMEDA injects funding of 6.65 million Egyptian pounds in Assiut to train and employ young men and women and create job opportunities to reduce the causes of irregular migration - Cabinet

Egypt’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (MSMEDA) on Wednesday provided 6.65 million Egyptian pounds for an initiative to train and employ young people in Assiut, Upper Egypt, aiming to reduce illegal migration.

This funding will support community development projects through local civil society organisations and will provide approximately 60,000 workdays for irregular labour.

MSMEDA is currently providing a variety of services to citizens as part of the presidential initiative; Bedaya: A New Beginning for Human Development, with the goal of improving living and economic conditions and assisting in the delivery of advanced services that benefit the targeted communities. It was mentioned that one of the initiative’s aims is to improve the services individuals receive and to help them develop their talents, allowing them to find better jobs or start their own businesses.
