Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), signed a framework agreement with BRICS countries in Moscow to bolster international tax collaboration.
This agreement reflects Egypt’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with global economic leaders and aims to develop tax administrations among member states.
Discussions held over three days focused on updating tax laws, improving risk assessments, and enhancing human resource capabilities within tax authorities. Abdel Aal emphasised the importance of service-oriented tax agencies and the need to build trust with taxpayers. Moreover, the agreement highlights the role of women and youth in future leadership within tax authorities.
Egypt’s participation in BRICS is seen as a vital step towards strengthening economic ties within this influential bloc.
