EIB supports Spanish mid-caps with €300m

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has partnered with Spanish investment bank Banca March to provide up to €300 million in additional financing for Spanish companies with 250 to 3,000 employees.

Under the agreement, the EIB will offer an institutional guarantee covering 50 per cent of the total amount, aiming to enhance private sector investment and liquidity solutions for mid-cap firms, many of which are family-owned.

At least 35 per cent of the investments are expected to target regions with a per capita income below the EU average, promoting regional competitiveness and cohesion.

EIB Director Gemma Feliciani emphasised the importance of public-private cooperation to bolster Spain’s economic growth and job creation.

Banca March CEO José Luis Acea noted that the agreement underscores their commitment to facilitating access to finance for Spanish businesses, positioning them as key drivers of economic and social development.
