EGX closes lower on Wednesday
Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) concluded Wednesday’s trading session on a negative note, with the main EGX30 index falling by 1.45 per cent to 29,846.04 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 dropped by 0.99 per cent to 3,102.18 points.
The SMEs index, EGX70 shrank 1.39 per cent, to 8,247.81 points.
The index, EGX100 index decreased by 1.33 per cent, to 11,329.18 points.
The total market capitalisation recorded 2,199,167,796,104 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with a total of 517,171,723 pounds and 286,359,030 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 803,530,754 pounds.
Top Gainers
- Shares of Delta for Printing & Packaging soared by 10.22 per cent, to close at the price of 79.910 pounds a share.
- Shares of Misr Beni Suef Cement (MBSC) climbed by 7.18 per cent, to trade at the price of 53.430 pounds a share.
- Shares of Elsaeed Contracting and Real Estate Investment Company (SCCD) jumped by 6.43 per cent, to the purchasing price of 0.993 pounds a share.
Top Losers
- Shares of General Silos & Storage dived by 7.18 per cent, to close at 207.120 pounds a share.
- Shares of Cairo Poultry Company fell by 5.59 per cent, to close at 15.550 pounds a share.
- Shares of Ezz Steel (ESRS) sank by 4.86 per cent, to close at the price of 107.510 pounds a share.
