Norway’s Empower to launch industrial solar project in Egypt

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnessed the signing of a contract between Norway’s Empower and Majid Al Futtaim to establish a solar energy project for industrial purposes in Egypt.

The agreement was signed during President Sisi’s official visit to Norway, the second stop on his European tour.

In discussions with CEOs from Norwegian firms such as Empower New Energy and Golar LNG, as well as the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation and the Norwegian-African Business Association, Sisi explored opportunities to boost investment cooperation between Egypt and Norway.

The meeting also focused on fostering trilateral cooperation in Africa, emphasising Egypt’s role in advancing development across the continent.
