Russian stocks, yuan-ruble exchange rate rise

Russian stock indices and the yuan-to-ruble rate increased at the opening of trading on the Moscow Exchange. As of 10:00am Moscow time, the MOEX and RTS indexes were up by 0.56 per cent to 2,526.66 and 770.75 points, respectively.

The yuan-to-ruble exchange rate also rose by 4.35 kopecks to 13.969 rubles compared to the previous closing level.

By 10:15am Moscow time, the upward momentum accelerated. The MOEX index reached 2,528.52 points (+0.64 per cent), and the RTS index climbed to 771.31 points (+0.64 per cent).
