Euro area construction production shows growth in Oct. ’24
Construction production increased by 1.0 per cent in the euro area and 0.7 per cent in the EU in October 2024, marking a recovery after a decline in September 2024.
in October 2023, construction production rose by 0.2 per cent in the euro area but decreased by 0.8 per cent in the EU.
Monthly increases were seen across all construction sectors, with civil engineering leading the way in both regions. Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, and Portugal recorded the highest monthly gains, while Romania and Poland saw decreases.
On an annual basis, production in civil engineering rose by 3.0 per cent in the euro area, while specialised construction activities declined by 0.9 per cent. Romania, Slovenia, and Poland saw the largest annual decreases, while Portugal, Spain, and Bulgaria recorded the highest increases.
