EIB supports Valencia’s zero-emission bus fleet with €69m

The European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a €69 million loan with Valencia’s Empresa Municipal de Transportes (EMT) to finance the expansion of its zero-emissions bus fleet.

The project will fund the purchase of 145 electric buses, replacing older vehicles nearing the end of their service life.

The loan will also support the installation of charging infrastructure, fire safety systems, IT upgrades, and additional parking spaces.

This initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions, pollution, and noise while enhancing public transport in Valencia and surrounding areas.
