Egypt’s SCA, Omani firm to drive joint maritime collaboration
The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) signed a memorandum of understanding with Omani Integrated Logistic Services (SAOC) on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening cooperation in maritime operations and logistics services, according to a Cabinet’s statement.
The agreement outlines potential collaboration in several key areas, including training and ship repair and maintenance, leveraging the SCA’s expertise and its shipyards.
Additionally, the Suez Canal’s advanced training capabilities through the Suez Canal Maritime Training and Simulation Academy will be utilised.
The cooperation will also focus on joint marketing efforts to attract Omani fleet vessels to transit the canal, establishing a specialised advisory centre for technical and logistical support, and organising workshops and conferences to share best practices, improve operational efficiency, and enhance logistics and maritime services.
