Saudi c. bank to launch Google Pay this year

Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced on Thursday that it had signed an agreement with Google to launch Google Pay in the Kingdom by 2025 through the national payment system Mada.

This initiative supports SAMA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the digital payments ecosystem in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The introduction of Google Pay will offer users a secure and convenient way to make payments across stores, apps, and online, while allowing them to manage their cards within Google Wallet.

The move is part of a broader strategy to reduce cash dependence and position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in FinTech innovation.
