FRA forms expert group to boost Egypt’s regulated voluntary carbon market
Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) said on Wednesday it formed an advisory group of 13 local and international experts specialising in carbon emissions reduction, sustainable development, climate change, and clean energy to support the Carbon Credit Regulatory Committee (CCRC).
Appointed for a renewable one-year term, the group will provide technical expertise, analyse assigned topics, and assist the committee in achieving its goals. Members were selected based on recommendations from the committee chairman.
The move builds on the FRA’s efforts to develop a voluntary carbon market, positioning Egypt as a regional and global leader while offering a model for other nations.
The advisory group’s recommendations will be submitted to the CCRC for evaluation and implementation. The committee may also delegate specific tasks to group members to enhance its work.
