Egypt ranked 86th among the 133 economies featured in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2024, according to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) report cited by the Cabinet.
In addition, Egypt was the top-ranked country in Africa for the number of scientific, technological, and innovation clusters, boasting 11 clusters in 2024.
Furthermore, Cairo made its debut in the world’s top 100 scientific, technological, and innovation clusters, the statement added.
The state supports the national innovation system by establishing research centres, technological incubators, providing funding for innovative projects, and organising competitions and exhibitions for the gifted and creative.
