Egypt, Netherlands boost agricultural ties at GreenTech Amsterdam

Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mustafa Al-Sayyad met with his Dutch counterpart Jan-Kees Goet on the sidelines of the GreenTech Amsterdam to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral agricultural cooperation.

The two officials discussed opportunities for collaboration in water management and conservation techniques in agricultural activities, as well as the adoption of advanced technologies in the sector, as per a Cabinet statement on Wednesday.

Talks also covered the improvement of livestock breeds and the potential import of high-yield dairy and meat cattle from the Netherlands, alongside knowledge-sharing in animal husbandry.

Both sides reviewed joint agricultural projects between the two countries, particularly those led by the private sector, and highlighted the incentives offered by the Egyptian government to support private investment in agricultural development.
