The CEO of Egypt Space Agency (EgSA) Professor Sherif Sedky held a meeting on Sunday with Head of the National Water Research Centre (NWRC) Professor Sherif Mohamady to discuss potential areas of cooperation between the two institutions in key development sectors.
The talks focused on integrating the centre’s expertise in water resource management and hydrological modelling with the Space Agency’s capabilities in satellite data analysis.
The collaboration aims to leverage satellite imagery for applied studies related to water resources, climate change, desertification, sediment movement, and analysis of soil and land cover properties.
Prof. Sedky underscored the agency’s commitment to using space technologies in support of Egypt’s sustainable development efforts, particularly in natural resource management.
He highlighted that partnering with the Water Research Centre represents an important step in applying satellite data to national water security challenges.
