Egypt C. Bank: Inflation Rates Of 9.75% Down On Vegetables & Fruits

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said the annual rate inflation of this year down on the prices of vegetables and fruits with 9.75% in June 2013 compared to 8.20% in 2012, the index of consumer prices which announced by Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) witnessed a high monthly rate of 0.88% in the last June compared to a monthly decline of 0.16% in last May.

In addition, the prices of fresh vegetables and foodstuffs including poultry, fish and seafood have increased.

CBE  has revealed that fresh vegetables prices raised with 5.98% in June and the prices of fruits up 0.95% in June compared to 0.33% in May.

The poultry prices increased with 2.20% in June compared to a decline with 4.63% in May, as well as the prices of fish and rice by 3.18% and 2.60% by the end of June.

It is Worth mentioning that the main inflation rate prepared by CBE is a monthly rate amounted to 0.77% in June 2013 against 0% monthly rate in May.
