Australia’s CPI rises in Q2 ’25 – ABS data

Australia’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.7 per cent in the second quarter of 2025, bringing annual inflation to 2.1 per cent, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported on Wednesday.

Michelle Marquardt, head of price statistics at the ABS, noted that the quarterly rise was lower than the 0.9 per cent increase recorded in the first quarter of 2025.

She added that the annual inflation rate of 2.1 per cent for the June quarter marked a decline from 2.4 per cent in the March quarter, representing the lowest yearly inflation rate since the March 2021 quarter.
