Egypt’s ETA to reject paper invoices in VAT refund claims from July 2023

Egypt’s Tax Authority (ETA) said on Tuesday it will no longer accept paper invoices as proof for value-added tax (VAT) refund claims, effective July 1, 2023.

In a statement, the authority urged taxpayers to comply with the new requirement to avoid rejection of their refund applications. It added that guidelines, supporting documents and frequently asked questions on VAT refund procedures are available on its website.
