Euro area inflation up to 2.1% in August – Eurostat

Euro area annual inflation reached 2.1 per cent in August 2025, slightly up from 2.0 per cent in July, a flash estimate from Eurostat showed on Tuesday.

Food, alcohol and tobacco recorded the highest annual rate at 3.2 per cent, down from 3.3 per cent in July.

Services were at 3.1 per cent, compared with 3.2 per cent, while non-energy industrial goods remained steady at 0.8 per cent. Energy prices were seen contracting by 1.9 per cent, easing from a 2.4 per cent decline in July.
