Egypt eyes new renewable energy projects with Alcazar Energy

Egypt’s Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan El-Khatib held talks with Alcazar Energy co-founder Daniel Calderon on Saturday to review the company’s strategy and explore new renewable energy projects in the country, the ministry said.

El-Khatib said Egypt has implemented reforms to improve its investment climate and attract foreign capital under Vision 2030, which prioritises private sector participation in infrastructure and clean energy. Expanding solar and wind generation remains a government priority to strengthen energy security and meet rising demand, he added.

The minister said cooperation with global firms such as Alcazar supports technology transfer and localisation, while Egypt’s cost competitiveness makes it an attractive destination for energy investors. Talks also covered potential joint investments in clean energy and mechanisms for green finance.

Calderon praised Egypt’s investment climate and natural advantages, describing it as a promising market with strong potential in renewables.
