Egypt’s Labour Minister Mohamed Gobran met with Ismailia Governor Akram Mohamed Galal on Tuesday to expand cooperation on training, employment, and worker protections, the cabinet said in a statement.
Talks focused on supporting vulnerable groups, including informal workers and people with disabilities, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Gobran said the ministry had begun implementing Labour Law No. 14 of 2025, aimed at improving job security, attracting investment and enforcing workplace safety. Labour directorates were instructed to intensify inspections of work permits, contracts and safety compliance, while vocational training programmes are being upgraded to prepare youth for local and overseas markets.
Galal praised the ministry’s efforts, citing Ismailia’s industrial expansion that has created thousands of jobs. He said the governorate would deepen coordination with the ministry to strengthen labour relations, boost production and ensure enforcement of labour laws.
