Sisi to lead historic first-ever Egypt–EU Summit
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi left Cairo on Tuesday for Brussels to lead the country’s delegation to the first-ever Egypt–European Union (EU) Summit on Wednesday, the presidency said.
The summit, the first of its kind since the official launch of a comprehensive strategic partnership in Cairo in March 2024, is expected to focus on deepening political coordination, economic cooperation, and regional security collaboration between Egypt and the EU.
During the visit, Sisi is scheduled to meet senior EU officials, several European leaders, and Belgium’s King Philippe. The agenda will also feature an investment forum highlighting opportunities in Egypt for major European companies and business leaders, as well as discussions on combating illegal migration and other issues of shared concern, the presidency added.
