Ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has just arrived at the Cairo Police Academy as part of the renewal of discussions in the retrial of his involvement in the killing of protesters in the revolt that led to his ouster in 2011.
Police said the deposed president was on a helicopter taking off Sunday from a military hospital headed to a police academy in east Cairo. His retrial began in April, but this is his first appearance since he was released last week from prison and transferred to house arrest in the hospital.
Mubarak was released from jail on Thursday after being imprisoned for over two years.
He was placed under house arrest according to an order Wednesday by Egypt’s military-installed prime minister.
