Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed mostly in the green area on Tuesday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 0.05 per cent, to 41,940.62 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, rose by 0.79 per cent to 4,426.3 points.
- The index EGX35-LV advanced by 0.33 per cent to 4,609.57 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, climbed by 0.95 per cent, to 12,870.04 points.
- The EGX100 index surged by 0.89 per cent, to 17,053.86 points.
The total market cap reached 2,952,877,408,418 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 868,458,415 pounds, and 20,744,183,568 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, Egyptians were net sellers with 21,612,641,984 pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Development & Engineering Consultants went up by 19.99 per cent to 100.890 pounds a share.
- The shares of ELSWEDY ELECTRIC rose by 14.94 per cent to close at 75.310 pounds a share.
- The shares of Alexandria New Medical Center jumped by 11.96 per cent, closing at 54.010 pounds a share.
Top losers
- The shares of Eastern Company dropped by 6.04 per cent to 42.000 pounds a share.
- The shares of Upper Egypt Flour Mills fell by 5.35 per cent to close at pounds a share.
- The shares of GMC Group for Industrial Commercial & Financial Investments sank by 4.50 per cent, closing at pounds a share.
