Egypt’s Cabinet approved a draft presidential decree on Wednesday to ratify a $10 million grant agreement with the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) to finance development projects in Sohag Governorate.
The grant will support projects in Nagaa Al-Asirrat village, part of Egypt’s efforts to accelerate comprehensive development in underserved rural communities and improve social, educational, economic and environmental conditions.
Planned projects include the rehabilitation and renovation of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque and Sheikh Mohamed Seddik Al-Minshawi Mosque, upgrades to an Al-Azhar school, the construction of a primary and preparatory school, the establishment of community-based classrooms, a children’s park, and a community markets project.
The projects will be implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Local Development, the Ministry of Religious Endowment, Al-Azhar, and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, according to the Cabinet.
