Egypt phasing out paper arrival cards at Cairo Airport from 11 April

Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation said on Tuesday it will phase out the paper arrival card for Egyptian passengers at Cairo International Airport starting 11 April, as part of a broader push to digitise travel procedures.

The move aligns with Egypt’s digital transformation efforts and aims to streamline government procedures, enhance travel flexibility, and reduce processing times. The ministry said the step will improve passenger flow and operational efficiency in line with international standards.

Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny said the measure reflects the government’s commitment to improving services for travellers and enhancing airport performance. He added that the digital system will be gradually expanded to other airports across Egypt, praising the coordination of security agencies, which successfully played a key role in implementing the change.
