Venezuela’s Ambassador has returned to Egypt on Tuesday after completing his consultations in Caracas for 2 weeks.
“Ambassador Victor R. Carazo has completed his consultations in Caracas and shall return to Cairo on Tuesday,” Egypt’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs said in a statement
In light of the efforts exerted by the Foreign Ministry and the Egyptian embassy at Caracas to explain the political developments in Egypt since 30 June and as a result of Egypt’s insistence to stick to the international resolutions and the principles of international law at international forums, Venezuela decided to return its ambassador to Cairo, an Egyptian diplomatic source said.
On August 16th, the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro recalled his ambassador to Cairo and called for Egypt’s ousted president Mohamed Morsi to be reinstated.
“Due to this painful situation in Egypt, I decided as head of state to summon our ambassador in Cairo to Caracas, and leave the chargé d’affaires at the embassy until further notice,” Maduro had announced during a conference.
