Egypt’s stock market started this week higher posting opening gains of EGP 162 million on Sunday. The benchmark index surges above 5180 p.
Benchmark EGX30 increased by 0.28% to 5184.24 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.35 % to 6029.19 p.
On the other hand, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 went up by 0.03% to 441.04 p. Price index EGX100 advanced by 0.04% to 744.5 p.
The capital market has opened at EGP 352.502 billion on Sunday.
Trading Volumes & Values
The trading volume has recorded 10.125 million securities worth EGP 24.229 million, exchanged through 1408 transactions during Sunday opening.
Also during the opening session, 64 listed securities have been traded in; 17 fell, 21 advanced; while 26 keeping their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
The non-Arab foreigners’ buying transactions backed EGX’s opening gains as they were net buyers seizing 6.84%, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 673.797 excluding the deals.
Meanwhile, Egyptians and Arab were net sellers seizing 90.66%, 2.5% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 270.058 thousand and EGP 403.740 thousand respectively, excluding the deals.
