Egypt’s Cabinet approves draft law to merge agricultural authority into research centre

Egypt’s Cabinet approved on Thursday a draft law to merge the Egyptian Agricultural Authority (EAA) into the Agricultural Research Centre (ARC) as part of efforts to streamline the agricultural sector and improve the delivery of public services.

Under the draft law, the Agricultural Research Centre will assume all responsibilities and functions of the Egyptian Agricultural Authority, according to a Cabinet statement.

The government said the merger aims to integrate the work of the two entities under the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, improve coordination among affiliated bodies, and enhance institutional efficiency.
